The Asian Conference on Education (ACE) is now in its eighth year and is held annually. Since 2010 more than 2,500 delegates have attended this annual interdisciplinary event, which takes place in Japan in autumn.
In 2016, ACE attracted 222 attendees representing 33 countries – a truly international event. This diversity serves as a wonderful comparative and contrastive resource.
The majority of ACE conference attendees are university faculty, with 51% holding an academic post. At 22% of the total registered delegates, postgraduate and doctoral students make up the next largest group of attendees. The remaining attendees come from the business sector (2%) and the public sector (9%), with 2% registered as "independent" and 15% registered as "other".
