Programme

The Asian Undergraduate Research Symposium 2019 (AURS2019) will be held in Tokyo, Japan, on Sunday the 3rd of November. Now in its fifth year, this one day event, held in English, is aimed at undergraduate students in their final year. AURS provides undergraduates with an exciting opportunity to present to and learn from researchers and professionals from around the globe. The AURS organisers are again reaching out to undergraduate scholars from across all fields and disciplines to participate in the 2019 symposium. Here, students will share their academic research experiences and the knowledge they have acquired as an undergraduate working with professors or academic mentors, with each other, and with the symposium leaders.

The day-long symposium will comprise a number of workshop activities and culminate in a poster presentation in a special session of The Asian Conference on Education 2019 (ACE2019).

AURS2019, which takes place in a supportive and collegial environment, provides you with a motivating and thought-provoking opportunity to present your research, network with other undergraduates and academics from around the world, and find out how your participation in the symposium can aid you in your future directions.

Students will be given a brief overview of the symposium by members of IAFOR and the ACE2019 Organising Committee. Expectations for the weekend and desired outcomes of AURS2019 will be outlined.

10:45-11:15: Coffee/Tea Break | Room 601 (6F)

11:15-12:15: Professional Development Session 2 | Room 601 (6F)
This session will focus on the skills involved in communicating ideas publicly. Students will need to know how to effectively communicate their ideas in one-on-one scenarios and in small groups.

12:15-13:15: Lunch Break (lunch is included) | Room 601 (6F)

13:15-13:30: Group 1 Set up posters

13:30-14:30: Poster Presentation Session 1 | Room 601 (6F)
Students will present their posters to each other and to delegates attending ACE2019.

14:40-14:45: Group 2 Set up posters

Students will present their posters to each other and to delegates attending ACE2019.

The Symposium Programme contains access information, session information and a detailed day-to-day presentation schedule. All registered delegates who attend conference receive a printed copy of the Symposium Programme at the Registration Desk on arrival.


About ACE

The Asian Conference on Education is one of the largest international interdisciplinary academic conferences in Asia, and includes The Asian Undergraduate Research Symposium (AURS). All student presenters will also have the chance to attend other academic sessions at ACE as an observer on Friday and Saturday (lunch is not included on these days).
